Day 5 of Flight Disruptions at Pune Airport: Passenger Frustration Mounts as 32 Flights Cancelled

Chaos continued at Pune Airport on Sunday as IndiGo cancelled 32 flights—14 arrivals and 18 departures—marking the fifth consecutive day of disruptions. Long queues formed at IndiGo counters as worried passengers sought updates on missing baggage and alternative flight schedules amid ongoing confusion. Many travellers crowded the counters just to check if their flights were still on. Padmakshi Joshi shared, “My Pune to Dehradun flight (6E 403) scheduled for December 11 was cancelled, so I rescheduled it to December 10. I came to the airport today just to confirm if the flight is still operating because no one answers my calls.”
Similarly, Alexander Cothesreiv, awaiting a Pune to Goa flight (6E 919) scheduled for the next day, said, “We came just to confirm whether the flight will actually take off.”Passengers expressed frustration over the lack of prior notifications. Nibha Sinha recounted, “Our Pune to Patna flight (6E 653) was today at 4:45 pm. We arrived at the airport only to find out it was cancelled. IndiGo sent no message or email.”Traveling with infants added to the distress. Himanshi Narang explained, “My Delhi flight (6E 2587) was cancelled on December 5 and rescheduled for today. I arrived early to ensure it doesn’t get cancelled again since I’m travelling with a six-month-old baby.”One passenger described how delays and baggage issues ruined his holiday.
“Our Chandigarh flight (6E 721) on December 3 was delayed repeatedly, and we spent nearly 24 hours at the airport. Upon arrival, our baggage was missing. Accommodation was arranged, but no confirmation on luggage. Later, we found out no PIR was created. The trip was ruined—I told them to keep the luggage in Pune.”Arman Khan shared his ordeal: “I was to fly Pune-Delhi-Gorakhpur, but my Delhi-Gorakhpur flight (6E 5347) was cancelled. I had to travel 20 km to get clarity since calls and emails went unanswered.”Missing baggage remains a widespread concern. Sanjay Singh said, “My relatives arrived from Delhi to Pune (6E 933) after an eight-hour delay on December 3, but their luggage did not arrive.
