Gen Z Poised to Drive Viksit Bharat 2047, Experts Say at Nagpur Event – Advantage Vidarbha

Experts highlighted the significant role Gen Z can play in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 during a seminar on the “Role of Artificial Intelligence in Viksit Bharat 2047,” held recently at the Advantage Vidarbha Audyogik Mahotsav, organized by the Association of Industrial Development.Speakers from leading institutions emphasized the importance of Gen Z blending traditional values passed down through generations with cutting-edge technology.

This balanced approach, they noted, is key to achieving the national vision more rapidly and sustainably.Rajan Pandhre from MAHA STRIDE, Nagpur Division, showcased India’s first AI-enabled smart village, Satnavri. Developed over five years with funding from the Government of Maharashtra, Satnavri incorporates initiatives such as agriculture drone farming and digitally calibrated pesticide-use equipment to promote precision farming.Pramod Narayan Jumle,

Director of Trainings at the Board of Apprenticeship Training, Government of Maharashtra, shared practical insights on fulfilling the Viksit Bharat vision. He highlighted India’s strength as home to nearly 16% of the world’s AI talent and a rapidly growing pool of over 600,000 AI professionals.

However, he warned that demand for expertise in AI, data science, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and related fields continues to outpace supply, creating a widening skills gap. Jumle stressed the urgent need for upskilling and advocated for bridging the gap between theoretical academic curricula and industry needs through structured apprenticeship programs.

Other distinguished panelists included Rahul Karangale, Principal Consultant at Infosys MIHAN; Dr. Smita Singh Dabholkar, Assistant Professor at IMT; and Shantanu Vishwanadha, Developer Relations APAC at Zencoder, Nagpur.
