Discharge levels were raised by 16,247 cusecs to reach 22,880 cusecs at 12:00 PM on Friday, with officials warning that release rates could surge to 30,000 cusecs in the coming hours if heavy downpours persist.

Rapidly Rising Inflows: Continuous heavy rainfall starting from 6:00 AM on Friday drastically accelerated water levels across the entire dam chain, necessitating immediate release to manage capacity.
Potential Record Release: The current season’s highest discharge was recorded earlier on July 8, 2026, at 27,203 cusecs. The projected 30,000 cusecs discharge could surpass that mark.
Flexible Monitoring: Officials clarified that discharge rates will be continuously adjusted—either increased or decreased—based on real-time rainfall intensity and inflow volume.
