PMC Greenlights ₹5.86 Crore Overhaul for Hadapsar Gadital Flyover

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has officially approved a ₹5.86 crore budget for the critical repair and strengthening of the Hadapsar Gadital flyover. This approval paves the way for essential maintenance on one of the city’s most congested traffic corridors.

Following a competitive bidding process involving four firms, Sanrachna Structural Strengthening Pvt Ltd has been recommended for the contract. The Thane-based company emerged as the lowest bidder, offering to complete the project for ₹4.57 crore—approximately 22% lower than the initial engineering estimate of ₹6.9 crore.

Technical Scope of Repairs

The project is designed to enhance the structural integrity and lifespan of the flyover through several specialized interventions:

  • Structural Reinforcement: Installation of carbon laminates and comprehensive scaffolding.
  • Component Replacement: Swapping out worn expansion joints and bearings to ensure smoother vehicle movement.
  • Maintenance: Extensive crack filling and epoxy grouting to prevent further environmental damage.

Budget and Timeline

Funds for the restoration have already been allocated within the 2026–27 municipal budget. The PMC project department will oversee the execution to ensure safety standards are met.

As traffic volumes in Hadapsar continue to rise, officials emphasized that these repairs are a proactive necessity to prevent structural degradation. Authorities aim to implement a fast-track execution plan once work begins to minimize commuter sessions and restore smooth traffic flow as quickly as possible.
