Pune Fort Murder: Accused Claims Fiancé Said She ‘Won’t Be Able to Escape’ Ultra-Luxury Marriage

In a chilling turn of events in the Lohagad Fort murder case near Pune, Maharashtra, the primary accused, Siya Goyal, has claimed to investigators that she repeatedly told her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal, that she did not want to marry him. According to police sources, Siya alleged that Ketan refused to call off the wedding, boasting that his family was “influential and wealthy” and warning her that she would “not be able to escape” the marriage even if she tried to run away.

However, authorities emphasize that Siya’s claims remain subject to rigorous judicial scrutiny and the ongoing legal investigation.

A ₹17-Crore Wedding Planned, A Secret Affair Brewed

Siya and Ketan had announced their engagement in February, with a lavish, ultra-luxury wedding scheduled for November. The families had already booked a historic palace in Jaipur for a staggering ₹17 crore and arranged two private jets to transport their guests.

Unbeknownst to the family, Siya was in a relationship with another man, Chetan Chaudhary. The affair began in November 2025, just as wedding preparations were gaining momentum. Call logs later revealed that Siya and Chetan had exchanged 2,004 phone calls, totaling nearly 238 hours, over the last seven months.

From ‘Plan A’ to ‘Plan C’: The Murder Plot

Driven by the desire to end the engagement, Siya and her lover allegedly orchestrated a calculated plan to eliminate Ketan at Lohagad Fort.

Siya took Ketan to the fort and pushed him over the edge. Ketan miraculously survived by grabbing onto a bush on the cliffside. To cover her tracks, Siya created a distraction by screaming about a fake snake sighting and hugging him as he climbed back up.

Undeterred, Siya convinced Ketan to return to the fort a few days later, but this time she summoned Chetan to the location. Together, the pair allegedly blindsided Ketan, pushing him from behind into the deep gorge, which caused his death.

Case files have revealed that the duo was so determined that they had even locked in a “Plan C” in case the second attempt failed.

How the Plot Unraveled

Initially, Ketan’s death was treated as a tragic accident. Siya told the Lonavala Rural Police that he had simply slipped and fallen while trying to take photos during strong winds, leading to an accidental death report.

However, investigators grew highly suspicious when they noticed a complete lack of grief or sadness in Siya’s behavior. A deeper dive into her call records quickly exposed her relationship with Chetan, unraveling the entire murder conspiracy. Both accused are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
