Pune Fort Murder: Cops Grill Accused Siya’s Parents and Brother for 12 Hours

In the ongoing investigation into the shocking Lohagad Fort murder case, the Lonavala Rural Police on Saturday extensively questioned the parents and brother of 20-year-old accused Siya Goyal. The interrogation was tied to the alleged murder of her fiancé, Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal.

Siya Goyal and her lover, Chetan Chaudhary (22), are currently under arrest for allegedly conspiring to kill Agarwal by pushing him off a cliff at the popular fort on June 18.

Marathon Interrogations for the Family

Siya’s parents, Pravin and Puja Goyal, along with her brother, Sahil, arrived at the Lonavala Rural Police Station around 11:00 AM on Saturday to record their statements. The family was grilled for nearly 12 hours before being allowed to leave late at night.

This marks a continuous line of questioning for the family; Sahil had already been interrogated for over 10 hours on Friday. Meanwhile, Siya’s father, Pravin, had to be briefly hospitalized earlier in the week following the shock of his daughter’s arrest.

The Motive: Fearing “Family Disrepute”

According to police sources, Siya allegedly confessed that she was completely against marrying Agarwal. However, instead of calling off the luxury wedding, she chose to plot his murder with Chaudhary because she believed breaking off the engagement conventionally would bring immense shame and disrepute to her family.

Covering Tracks and Deleting Evidence

A senior police official confirmed that investigators are currently probing every angle of the calculated crime. The investigation is focusing heavily on:

The timeline and planning of the murder. The movements of Siya and Chetan before and after June 18. Their digital footprints and communication records.

The police further revealed that both accused explicitly tried to destroy evidence by wiping their digital tracks, systematically deleting chat records from their mobile phones both leading up to June 18 and immediately after the crime was committed. Both remain in custody as digital forensics teams work to recover the data.
