Pune Man Kills Father’s Murder Accused 23 Years After the Crime

In a chilling case of long-simmering revenge, the Pune Rural Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for orchestrating the brutal murder of the person allegedly responsible for killing his father 23 years ago, when the accused was just six months old.

The victim, Sanjay Baburao Kadu-Deshmukh (40), was found hacked to death near the old Katraj tunnel in Pune district’s Bhor tehsil on July 11. Following the recovery of the body, the Rajgad Police registered a murder case and launched a probe.

Investigation & Arrests

Using technical evidence and CCTV footage analysis, the Pune Rural Police’s Local Crime Branch (LCB) identified two primary suspects: Manthan Vaidya (24) and Saurabh Pardeshi.

Detention & Confession: Both suspects were detained on July 14. During interrogation, they confessed to executing the killing alongside two accomplices—identified as Mizan Shaikh and Sandip Kori.

Official Statement: Senior Police Inspector Pramod Kshirsagar confirmed that all four individuals involved in the conspiracy have been taken into custody.

A 23-Year-Old Grudge

The motive for the crime dates back to 2003, when Kadu-Deshmukh allegedly murdered Manthan’s father, Dinesh Vaidya, following a minor dispute. Manthan was an infant at the time.

According to Assistant Police Inspector Chetan Machale, Manthan grew up harboring a deep grudge over his father’s death. When Kadu-Deshmukh—who had a history of criminal charges and was out on bail in a separate case was released earlier this year, Manthan conspired with his associates to lure and eliminate him near the Katraj tunnel section.

Legal Action

An offense has been registered against Manthan Vaidya and his accomplices under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is actively underway by the Rajgad Police. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us and if you have anything to share do comment below and share your thoughts.
