Pune Police Raid Two Spa Centres, Rescue 18 Women Including Minors from Prostitution Racket

Pune Police carried out raids on two spa centres located in the upscale Baner and Airport areas, uncovering alleged prostitution rackets operating under the cover of massage parlours. Acting on a tip-off, police teams conducted the raids and rescued a total of 18 women, including 10 foreign nationals and two minors.During the operation at the spa near the Airport area, 16 women were rescued—10 foreign nationals and 2 Indian citizens.
The police arrested the spa owner, manager, and the property owner in connection with the case. A separate raid at a Baner spa resulted in the rescue of 2 women, with cases filed against the spa owner and manager there as well.The rescued minors, aged 15 and 17, were reportedly lured with promises of legitimate jobs before being forced into prostitution.
The main accused, Kiran alias Anuradha Baburao Ade, 28, a resident of Kharadi, has been arrested under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.Police investigations revealed that Kiran Ade was running the illegal operation by exploiting the victims’ vulnerable financial and emotional situations. Senior Inspector Ashalata Khapre led the police team that uncovered the racket following intelligence reports about immoral activities taking place at the spa centres.
