Power supply will be temporarily disrupted across several residential, commercial, and industrial areas of Nagpur city and the Butibori industrial belt today, September 23. The scheduled outages are required to carry out essential maintenance and repair work at Mahatransco’s 132 kV extra-high-voltage substation located in Besa.
The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has advised citizens and business owners to plan their daily activities accordingly. Officials emphasized that this preventive maintenance is vital to maintain grid stability and ensure a safer, more reliable power supply across the region in the future.
Affected Areas and Outage Schedules
The maintenance operations will impact different divisions across specific time slots throughout the day:
Mahal Division: Power supply will be interrupted between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on feeders serving Ganeshpeth, Mahal, Model Mill, D-Mart, and Imamwada due to load transfer operations. Additionally, areas including New Babulkheda, Parvati Nagar, Kaushalya Nagar, Kailas Nagar, and Jai Bhim Nagar will experience supply suspension from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Civil Lines Division: The 11 kV Utkarsh Nagar feeder will undergo a shutdown from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Affected localities include Utkarsh Nagar, Friends Colony, Vastushilp Colony, MHADA Colony, Narmada Colony, Pushpasandhya, Sachin Society, Bornala, Manish Society, Maple Regency, Phalke Layout, Kolbaswami, Barde Layout, and Welcome Society.
Butibori Industrial Division: Industrial units in parts of B-Zone connected to Feeder No. 3 of the MIDC substation will face a power outage from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Meanwhile, industrial consumers in C-Zone linked to the Apparel Park substation will see power suspended from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
MSEDCL officials have requested public cooperation during these necessary maintenance hours. Normal electricity supply is expected to resume promptly after the work is completed across all respective zones.
