Wife and Supporter of Pedophile Psychologist in Nagpur Arrested In S*xual Abuse Case

In a major development regarding a high-profile sexual abuse case, Nagpur police have apprehended Mrunal Vijay Ghaywat, the wife of self-proclaimed psychologist Vijay Prabhakar Ghaywat, along with her associate Pallavi Kishor Belkhode. The duo had been on the run for over six months before being captured on May 28, 2025, by a team led by Senior Police Inspector Dnyaneshwar Bhedodkar, under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Narendra Hiware.

Allegations Against Vijay Ghaywat

These arrests are part of ongoing investigations into Vijay Ghaywat, who allegedly operated the Manovikas Mind Development Center in Manewada, Nagpur. He is accused of exploiting and blackmailing several minor girls by pretending to offer therapeutic treatment for mental health and concentration issues.The case first surfaced in 2014 when a female victim reported to the Hudkeshwar Police Station that Ghaywat had molested and exploited her during therapy sessions. She claimed that she was intoxicated at the time and coerced into physical relations, with Ghaywat allegedly recording obscene photos and videos for blackmail purposes. Further investigations led to the seizure of Ghaywat’s mobile phone, which contained objectionable content involving other minors, suspected to be former students at his center. As more victims came forward, three additional FIRs were filed.

Charges and Custody

Mrunal Ghaywat and Pallavi Belkhode are facing charges for aiding and facilitating these crimes. Their arrest in Wathoda represents a significant advancement in the investigation. Both individuals have been remanded to police custody until May 31, 2025.

Formation of Special Investigation Team

Given the gravity of the situation, Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Singhal has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to manage the multiple FIRs and ensure a thorough inquiry.
