Central Railway Announces 12 Special Trains Connecting Nagpur to Mumbai and Pune for Festive Season

To accommodate the substantial surge in passenger traffic anticipated during the upcoming festive season, Central Railway has announced the operation of 12 special train services connecting Nagpur with Mumbai and Pune throughout November. The additional rail services have been scheduled specifically to facilitate smooth travel for commuters during the regional observances of Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja.
According to the official schedule released by railway authorities, the high-demand Nagpur–Mumbai route will receive eight special trips running between Nagpur and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Mumbai. Train No. 01089 is scheduled to depart from LTT on November 5, 8, 12, and 15. In the return direction, Train No. 01090 will operate from Nagpur Junction on November 6, 9, 13, and 16, providing dedicated travel options across key holiday dates.
Additionally, four special services have been allocated for the Nagpur–Pune corridor, operating between Nagpur and Hadapsar station in Pune. Train No. 01443 will depart for its journey on November 7 and 14, while the corresponding return service, Train No. 01444, is scheduled to run on November 8 and 15.
Central Railway confirmed that booking services for all 12 special trains opened officially on November 1. Passengers planning their festival travel can reserve tickets digitally through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) official website and mobile application, as well as offline through authorized passenger reservation counters across railway stations.
The introduction of these temporary train services aims to alleviate heavy passenger rush on regular routes, reduce waiting-list backlogs, and ensure seamless connectivity between major urban centers in Maharashtra during peak holiday travel weeks.
