Central Railway Suspends Platform Tickets, Parking at Nagpur and Ajni Stations for Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din

In anticipation of the massive footfall expected for Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din on October 19 and 20, Central Railway has announced stringent crowd-management measures at Nagpur and Ajni railway stations.
To prevent overcrowding and ensure seamless passenger movement, all vehicle parking facilities at both stations will remain closed, and the sale of platform tickets will be temporarily suspended during the event days.
To accommodate arriving pilgrims, dedicated passenger holding areas equipped with lighting, fans, mobile toilets, and seating arrangements are being established. At Nagpur station, the holding zone will be located on the eastern side near Santra Market, while Ajni station’s holding area will be set up within its primary parking grounds.
To streamline ticketing and reduce queue times, Central Railway will deploy five additional Mobile Unreserved Ticketing System (MUTS) counters at Nagpur station, with mobile ticketing facilities also operational inside the holding areas at both stations. Extra ticket-checking staff will be stationed across platforms to assist travelers and regulate passenger flow.
Assistance for visitors will be enhanced through ‘May I Help You’ booths set up on both sides of Nagpur station and at Ajni. Emergency medical teams, along with dedicated ambulances, will remain on standby at both locations. Additionally, railway authorities are making special arrangements to ensure a continuous supply of safe, chilled drinking water, alongside deploying extra sanitation personnel to maintain round-the-clock hygiene across platforms and holding areas.
Security arrangements will be significantly upgraded under the Railway Protection Force (RPF), which is deploying additional personnel to handle crowd control and ensure passenger safety. Extra CCTV cameras are also being installed at strategic locations across both stations for real-time surveillance.
