High Drama at Samvidhan Chowk as 2,000 Youths Join the CJP’s NEET Protest in Nagpur

The ongoing nationwide uproar over the NEET-UG paper leak scandal intensified as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), led by founder Abhijeet Dipke, staged a massive protest march at the iconic Samvidhan Chowk (Constitution Square) in Nagpur on June 16, 2026. The demonstrators firmly reiterated their core demand: the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Amid heightened tensions following a recent high-profile physical assault on Dipke during a similar demonstration in Jaipur, the Maharashtra Police significantly stepped up security deployment across civil lines. Despite heavy policing and anticipated traffic diversions, over 2,000 students, youth activists, and citizens from Nagpur and neighboring districts of Vidarbha converged at the venue at 4:00 p.m. following a viral social media mobilization campaign.

However, the peaceful gathering faced a brief period of volatility when a counter-protest erupted at Samvidhan Chowk.

A group of individuals donning saffron stoles entered the venue, raising “Jai Shri Ram” chants and shouting anti-CJP slogans. The counter-protesters verbally clashed with the students, questioning why the CJP had not demonstrated against historical paper leaks in previous years. The saffron-clad group alleged that the CJP was misleading the youth and claimed that “urban Naxals” had infiltrated the crowd to raise anti-RSS slogans. Local police intervention successfully managed the verbal sparring, preventing the friction from escalating into physical violence.

Dipke Meets Bereaved Family, Expresses Gratitude

Adding a deeply emotional layer to the Nagpur stir, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke took time during his visit to meet with the grieving family of a local NEET aspirant who recently died by suicide due to the extreme stress surrounding the compromised national exam.

Following the conclusion of the evening’s events, Dipke took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to thank the city for its unprecedented turnout.

“Thank you, Nagpur, for gathering in the largest numbers so far! Your support drives this fight for justice. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi & Babasaheb Ambedkar, our movement will continue through peaceful, non-violent protests. Dharmendra Pradhan must resign!” Dipke wrote.

The CJP has maintained that its pan-India agitation will continue uninterrupted until accountability is established at the highest administrative levels of the education ministry.
