The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has issued an Orange Alert for Nagpur on Wednesday, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Neighboring districts Wardha, Bhandara, and Chandrapur are also under an Orange Alert for Wednesday, while Gondia, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli remain under similar warnings through Tuesday.
According to RMC senior scientist Dr. Praveen Kumar, the active weather system is driven by a depression over the Bay of Bengal. Isolated areas across Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Bhandara, and Gondia are expected to witness heavy downpours exceeding 100 mm in a single day between Tuesday and Thursday.

Orange Alert (Heavy Rain & Severe Weather):
Tuesday: Gondia, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli.
Wednesday: Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Chandrapur.
Yellow Alert (Thunderstorms & Moderate Rain):
Sounded for the remaining seven districts of Vidarbha on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Amravati, Wardha, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli will remain under a Yellow Alert on Thursday.
Dry Spell Ahead: Rainfall activity is expected to subside completely across the region by the final day of the month.
Recent Rainfall & Temperature Relief
Nagpur Weather: Despite a Yellow Alert on Monday, Nagpur experienced clear skies until noon before cloud cover brought brief, light showers yielding 1 mm of rain by 5:30 PM. The cloud cover provided mild relief from humidity, dropping daytime temperatures from 33°C to 32.1°C.
Regional Rainfall Totals: Bhandara recorded the highest rainfall in Vidarbha at 40 mm, followed by Gondia at 24 mm. Chandrapur and Washim logged 3 mm and 2 mm, respectively. Daytime temperatures across Vidarbha hovered between 29°C and 33°C.
