The term “Lineman” often brings to mind male workers, but Dipali Khobragade, a dedicated employee at Mahavitaran in Nagpur, is breaking that stereotype with her exceptional work and determination. On March 4th, ‘Lineman Day,’ Dipali will be honored at a prestigious national ceremony in New Delhi.
Talking about the event, it is organized by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and Tata Power-DDL, the event will recognize four employees from Maharashtra, with Dipali standing out as the only woman—making her achievement a proud moment for Nagpur and Mahavitaran alike.
A Journey of Determination
Dipali’s inspiring 12-year career with Mahavitaran reflects her resilience and expertise:
- Early Years:She spent seven challenging years working in rural areas.
- Current Role:For the past five years, she has been a Senior Technician at the Old Shukrawari distribution center in Nagpur’s Mahal division.
- Key Responsibilities:From repairing faults in the power distribution network to bill collection, Dipali ensures uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers.
Philosophy and Impact
Safety remains Dipali’s top priority. She says, “Working without safety gear is an invitation to death. Using PPE for my safety and my colleagues’ is my foremost responsibility.”Her motivation comes from bringing light to customers’ homes and witnessing their happiness.
